Year Of Hope

Celebrating the Jubilee Year of Hope at St. Thomas More Catholic Academy 2025

In the Catholic Church, a Jubilee or Holy Year is a special year of forgiveness and reconciliation, in which people are invited to develop our relationship with God, with one another, and with all of creation. It is an invitation for all Catholics to renew their faith, to live with hope, and to be a light in the world, reminding believers of God’s endless mercy and His call for us to live as true disciples of Christ, always keeping in our hearts and minds that ‘Christ is the Light of the World’ (John).

The 2025 Jubilee Year begins on 24th December 2024 (Christmas Eve) and concludes on 6th January 2026. The Jubilee Year 2025, declared by Pope Francis, has the theme “Pilgrims of Hope.” This theme encourages the faithful to embrace hope, deepen their faith, and actively live out their Christian mission in a world that faces many challenges, reminding us that ‘Faith Without Action is Dead’ (James).

At St. Thomas More Catholic Academy, the whole school community came together to celebrate the launch of this special year on the 24th of January, participating in various events that reflected our faith and commitment to the faith and the important message of hope, rest and renewal during this holy year.
