Central Finance Assistant

Based at St Thomas More Catholic Academy

Level 3 SCP 3

20 Hours per week, days and times to be mutually agreed. Term Time Only

 The All Saints Catholic Collegiate are seeking to appoint a part time finance assistant to work as part of centralised finance team that is based at St Thomas More Catholic Academy, Longton, Stoke on Trent.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:-

  • Undertake general financial administration such as processing orders and invoices and basic reconciliation.
  • Dealing with supplier queries and enquiries
  • Provide information and data as requested by senior staff.
  • Ideally proficient in the use of PS Financials.
  • Holds positive values and attitudes and adopts high standards of behaviour and accuracy in their professional role.
  • Has a sense of humour, works well within teams and is committed to their own professional development.
  • Can fully subscribe to the vision and mission of our catholic school.

£18,426 – £19,554 – pro rata for term time plus inset days

Actual salary £14,960 – £15,876

34.5 hours per week: Mon – Fri 8.30 am – 4.00 pm (3.30 pm finish on Friday)

The Directors are looking to appoint an Administration Officer to start immediately.

The postholder will:

  • provide administrative support for medical needs, health care plans, medication, first aid equipment and inoculations; ensuring that the school MIS system, parents and staff are kept up to date
  • support the senior leadership team providing reports on behaviour data and other reports as required
  • answer incoming telephone calls and cover the student or visitor reception desk at lunchtime and as required

The successful applicant will:

  • Be a first aider or be willing to undertake training
  • Have experience of administrative and Microsoft systems including MIS systems, Word and Excel.
  • Be friendly yet professional and have a respectful approach which demonstrates support and shows mutual respect
  • Positively promote the Catholic ethos within the Academy

Casual Examination Invigilators

Level 3 scp 3 £9.36 per hour

We are seeking to recruit casual examination invigilators to supervise our students taking internal and external examinations throughout the year but mainly during the Summer examination period (May/June).  Examination Invigilators work under the overall guidance of our Examinations Officer and will:

  • be responsible for starting and finishing the examination
  • distribute examination papers to students and collate at the end of the examination
  • maintain the security and integrity of the examination papers
  • monitor students during the examination

Training will be provided to successful applicants and experience is not essential but would be advantageous.

We are looking to recruit candidates who have good communication skills, are reliable and have a calm demeanour.  Hours of work are flexible and are agreed, with the Examinations Officer, in advance of the commencement of the exam period.

Casual Mini Bus Driver

The directors are looking for a flexible and reliable driver to:

Transport students to and from educational venues and other establishments using the school minibus.

Carry out routine maintenance checks on the school vehicle and to report/rectify any defects as appropriate.

Maintain the cleanliness of the interior and exterior of the school vehicle.

Keep and retain accurate records relating to driving hours, journeys undertaken and any other such documentation relating to the driving and maintenance of the school’s vehicle.
