Headteacher's Welcome

This is a very exciting time in the life of St Thomas More Academy, as our successful Catholic school is thriving, vibrant and growing

We are extremely proud of our achievements to date which include strong academic results at both GCSE and A Level, an Ofsted Good rating in May 2017 under a far tougher inspection framework, and a multi-million pound programme of on-going investment which most recently has led to the creation of a state-of-the-art floodlit 3G sports provision for our students.

Gospel values lay at the heart of our Catholic community, and our motto ‘Aspire to be More’ not only recognises our patron St Thomas More, but encompasses the aspirations we have for all our students. We encourage them to be the best they can be, and work hard to provide them with the inspiring, happy and caring environment they need to achieve that.

Guided by our values of faith, excellence and respect, a ‘can-do’ culture permeates everything we do as I firmly believe nothing is impossible. No matter what background you come from, education can make a positive impact on your life chances. We aim for the highest standards of behaviour, achievement and pastoral care to ensure your child can thrive, and as a part of the All Saints Catholic Collegiate and the Trinity Sixth Form partnership we can offer a seamless education from reception through to sixth form.

Our standards and traditional values are reflected throughout the culture of our Academy, from our uniform policy to the level of respect we expect between staff and students, our school rules and how students conduct themselves while at school. We make no apologies for this, because our aim is to create a happy working environment which allows our students to grow in confidence and achieve their full potential.

Our partnership with parents and the wider community is an essential part of our success, reflected in the excellent relationships we enjoy with our parent body. We welcome you to come and visit us and see for yourself what we have to offer your child, and I look forward to discussing their future with you.
